Variety reports that Jessica Chastain is currently in negotiations to star in J.C. Chandor's upcoming film A MOST VIOLENT YEAR. The actress would join previously announced castmember Javier Bardem in the movie. Neal Dodson and Anna Gerb are producing.

To date, no plot details have been released for the project with a screenplay written by director Chandor. Chastain is currently shooting Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar."

The actress recently won a Golden Globe award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture and received an Oscar nomination for her performance in Kathryn Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty. She recently made her Broadway debut The Heiress in the role of 'Catherine Sloper' opposite Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner David Strathairn and "Downton Abbey" star Dan Stevens.
