James Earl Jones to Host an Upcoming 'In America' Piece on Cardiology

A new installment of the program IN AMERICA, hosted by James Earl Jones, will feature the field of Cardiology. The segment will be looking at what Cardiology is, whyit is important, and new innovations in the field. This episode of IN AMERICA will also explore the effect that advances in the field of Cardiology has on the US and worldwide.

Heart disease, and the effects of the disease, is one of the leading causes of death in the US. The American Heart Association estimates that around 81 million people in the US suffer from cardiovascular disease to some extent. That breaks down to one in three Americans have some sort of cardiovascular disease, including but not limited to high blood pressure, congenital heart defects, heart failure, and coronary heart disease. This program will examine the causes behind this epidemic and the doctors and researchers who are working so hard to find ways to stop and reverse the effects of this horrible disease. In addition, the episode will look at the history of cardiology and the future of the field, including advancements and cutting edge research in the treatment and prevention of heart attacks and strokes.
