Fresh off of FX's AMERICAN HORROR STORY, James Cromwell has signed on to co-star in ABC's upcoming pilot, BETRAYAL, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

The project, written by David Zabel (ER) and directed by Patty Jenkins, follows Sara (Hannah Ware), an unhappily married photographer who enters into an affair with a lawyer, a member of one of Chicago's most prominent and powerful families. When the attorney's case goes awry, a series of chaotic betrayals threaten to ruin everyone's lives.

Cromwell takes on the role of 'Terence Karsten,' the ruthless entrepreneur and patriarch of the family.
