Jack Horner has been named Executive Vice President, Theatrical Communications, Warner Bros. Pictures Group. The announcement was made today by Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing, Warner Bros. Pictures, to whom Horner will report.

In this newly created position at the studio, Horner will handle corporate PR issues specifically for the film division, working closely with Kroll as well as Warner Bros. Pictures Group President Jeff Robinov; Susan Fleishman, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Corporate Communications & Public Affairs; and the film division’s domestic and international publicity units. Horner will join the studio in September.

“We’ve been looking for the right executive and Jack is a perfect fit who will strengthen our group in many ways,” said Kroll. “His track record speaks for itself and he brings a sharp perspective on the daily communications issues we face as a film studio.”

Horner most recently served as Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Corporate Communications for News Corporation, based in New York. He joined the company as a director and speechwriter, ultimately expanding his responsibilities to include crisis management and media relations, acting as a senior spokesman. Horner is a graduate of Yale College and holds a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. He began his career as a Teach for America corps member in Los Angeles.
