An injury in rehearsal may prevent Melissa Rycroft from performing on tonight's episode of DANCING WITH THE STARS, according to ABC.

Releasing a statement regarding Rycroft's injury just mere hours before tonight's telecast is set to air, ABC said: "Melissa Rycroft suffered an on set injury during yesterday’s Sunday camera blocking rehearsal and was immediately taken to the hospital," it reads. "We can confirm Melissa was diagnosed with a disc herniation at the C4-C5 level of her cervical spine. At this time, Melissa’s ability to perform in tonight’s show will be a show time decision."

Yesterday, news broke that Rycroft was rushed to the hospital. Her rep told People Magazine: "Melissa was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where she is currently being examined. She was accompanied to the hospital by her husband, Tye Strickland, and her dance partner, Tony Dovolani. Everyone is taking all necessary precautions at this time."

In 2009, during her first round on DANCING, Rycroft suffered a hairline fracture on a rib, and was forced to sit out that week. She went on to place third in that season.

As BroadwayWorld reported last week in the DANCING WITH THE STARS recap, Rycroft and Dovolani were tied at the top of the leader board.
