Indigo Girls LGBTQIA+ Movie Musical GLITTER & DOOM Adds Ming-Na Wen & Missi Pyle

SPEAKproductions and TBD Pictures in partnership with Sin Sentido Films and La Palma de Oro Films announce principal photography of Glitter & Doom, the first movie musical told with the iconic tunes of Indigo Girls.

Featuring Missi Pyle and Ming-Na Wen, with cameos from Tig Notaro, Lea DeLaria, Amy Ray and Emily Saliers of Indigo Girls, the film stars international discoveries in the title roles: Filipino star Alex Diaz as Glitter & UK-based Alan Cammish as Doom. With additional cameos in the works.

Glitter & Doom is a fantastical summer romance that follows a musician who wears charisma as camouflage and a carefree kid about to run away with the circus as they fall in love at first sight. But will 29 days be enough time to fall in love forever?

Says Gustafson, "We're so excited to return to Mexico to shoot this story that celebrates young love and to do so with such an amazing international cast and crew and the support of our incredible producing partners in Mexico and New York. And to be on this journey with the support of two of our heroes, Indigo Girls' Amy and Emily, is humbling and inspiring."

Says Krueckeberg, "It's a story inspired by Tom and I meeting way back when we lived in Chicago - and when I knew I wanted it to be a musical, my first thought was to ask Amy and Emily since their music was such a big part of our relationship. So - we sent my first draft with fingers crossed and they said yes! And then started the real work of combing through their deep, rich catalog for the 20 best songs to weave throughout the fabric of our story."

Glitter & Doom took part in Inside Out Film Festival's 2020 Film Finance Forum and will return to New York for post in order to participate in the New York State Post Production Credit Program.
