CBS's FACE THE NATION is #1 Sunday Morning Public Affairs Show

CBS News' FACE THE NATION posted 3.25m viewers and 0.8/04 in adults 25-54 - the demographic most important to those who advertise in news - according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Feb. 22. Editor's Note: FACE THE NATION's second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 75% of the CBS affiliates.

On Feb. 22, FACE THE NATION was tied for first in adults 25-54 among the Sunday morning public affairs programs. Compared to the same day last year, FACE THE NATION was up +10% in viewers (from 2.95m) and up +14% in adults 25-54 (from 0.7/03).

In the February 2015 sweep, FACE THE NATION delivered 3.59m viewers and 0.8/04 in adults 25-54. FACE THE NATION was first in viewers and tied for first in adults 25-54 for the February 2015 sweep among the Sunday morning public affairs programs. FACE THE NATION was up +11% in viewers (from 3.22m) and even in adults 25-54 compared to last February. FACE THE NATION posted its largest February sweep audience since 1991.

Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +6% in viewers (3.50m from 3.30m) and even in adults 25-54 (0.8/04). Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs program in viewers and adults 25-54.

The Feb. 22 broadcast of FACE THE NATION featured interviews with Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX). Host Bob Schieffer also spoke to former White House Senior Advisor and author of Believer David Axelrod. The week's panel of analysts included Michele Flournoy of the Center for a New American Security, Farah Pandith of the Council on Foreign Relations, Danielle Pletka of the American Enterprise Institute and David Ignatius of The Washington Post.

FACE THE NATION is broadcast on Sundays at 10:30 AM, ET (check local listings) on the CBS Television Network. Mary Hager is the executive producer. The Emmy-winning program, FACE THE NATION is one of the longest-running news programs in the history of television. It premiered on CBS on Nov. 7, 1954. The program broadcasts from Washington, D.C., where Schieffer has spent more than 40 years covering government and politics. He has anchored FACE THE NATION since 1991.
