As first reported on Deadline.com, comedian Brett Butler will join the cast of FX's upcoming comedy series ANGER MANAGEMENT starring Charlie Sheen. The show will tell the story of a therapist (Sheen) who specializes in non-traditional methods of treating patients with anger control issues.
Butler will have a recurring role portraying 'Brett', a bartender at the restaurant where Sheen's character frequents. The series marks the comedian's first return to TV since her starring role on ABC's 'Grace Under Fire'. That series was cancelled by the network after Butler began having substance abuse issues. Creator Chuck Lorre was responsible for Butler's show as well as Sheen's recent comedy 'Two And a Half Men'.
Anger Management's executive producer Bruce Helford commented, “Brett is a great comedic voice and Charlie and I thought she’d be strong in that role. Besides the obvious irony of her being in one of Chuck’s show’s too.”
In a recent interview with TV Guide, Butler hinted at a return to TV commenting, ”I’m starting to put a toe in the water again. I think something will happen when the right person remembers me and knows that I’m available.”
