Asian World Film Festival Announces Closing Night, 11/1 ImageThe 4TH Annual ASIAN WORLD FILM FESTIVAL (AWFF) will close with an awards presentation honoring actresses Lisa Lu and Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians) with the Snow Leopard Awards at the festival's closing night ceremony. AWFF is once again partnering with The Snow Leopard Trust to raise awareness for the endangered snow leopard and its ecosystem in the high mountains of Asia. The Awards ceremony, will be followed by a screening of China's In Harm's Way and a reception at the Culver Hotel.

Joining Awkwafina and Lisa Lu, expected guests in attendance include Amy Tan (Author, The Joy Luck Club), Lauren Tom (The Joy Luck Club), Adele Lim (Writer/Producer, Crazy Rich Asians), Ming-Na Wen (Mulan), Rosalind Chao (Mulan), Kieu Chinch (The Joyluck Club, Finding Julia), Sam Kadi (Director, Little Gandhi), David Lim (S.W.A.T., Quantico), David Seidler (Writer, The King's Speech, Soraya), Tamlyn Tomita (The Good Doctor, The Man in the High Castle), Thomas Aujero Small (Mayor of Culver City), Mima Khawly (General Consul of Lebanon), Can Oguz (General Consul of Turkey), Salwan Sinjaree (General Counsul of Iraq) and Culver City Council Members Goran Eriksson, Alex Fisch and Daniel Lee, among others.
In addition, AWFF's Sadyk Sher-Niyaz (Founder/Chairman), Georges N. Chamchoum (Executive/ Programing Director) Asel Sherniyazova (Co-Founder/ Managing Director), Jury President Vivian Wu (Actress/Producer) and Jury Members Silvia Bizio (Co-director, Taormina Film Festival -Italy), Kimberly Cheng (Journalist/Reporter/Actress-USA), Justin Chon (Actor/Writer/Director-USA), Alex Dong (Executive Producer-Hong Kong), Eleonora Granata Jenkinson (Producer-Italy/USA), Sam Lahoud (Screenwriter/Producer/Director), Dalmira Tilepbergen (Writer/Director-Kyrgyzstan).

Actresses Lisa Lu and Awkwafina will be honored with the Snow Leopard Awards at the festival's closing night ceremony, November 1 at the ArcLight Cinema in Downtown Culver City (9500 Culver Blvd.) AWFF is once again partnering with The Snow Leopard Trust to raise awareness for the endangered snow leopard and its ecosystem in the high mountains of Asia. Additional Snow Leopard festival awards will be presented including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Special Jury, Audience and Best New Director. The Awards ceremony will be followed by a screening of China's In Harm's Way and a reception at the Culver Hotel.

The Asian World Film Festival (AWFF) brings the best of a broad selection of Asian World cinema to Los Angeles to draw greater recognition to the region's wealth of filmmakers, strengthening ties between the Asian and Hollywood film industries. Uniting through cross-cultural collaboration, our festival CHAMPIONS films from over 50 countries across Asia spanning from Turkey to Japan and Russia to India and the Middle East. All films that participate in the Festival will have a unique chance to be guided through the challenging awards season, and showcased for the Motion Picture Academy, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and all Guilds for enhanced exposure, media attention and awards consideration.
