Entertainment Weekly reports that actress Mary Steenburgen is set to guest star on upcoming episodes of NBC's 30 ROCK when the show returns to NBC's midseason lineup.

The actress will play the role of 'Charlotte', the beautiful, energetic mother of Avery, played by actress Elizabeth Banks.  In the multi-episode arc, she will come into conflict with Jack, played by actor Alec Baldwin.

Steenburgen will be making a four-episode appearance beginning this coming Monday opposite her husband Ted Danson in the HBO series 'Bored to Death'.  On the show, the actress will play a vocal coach who has a crush on her real-life husband's character, George Christopher.

Steenburgen was mostly recently seen on the big screen in the summer blockbuster, 'The Help'.
