According to The Hollywood Reporter, AMERICAN IDOL Season 11 finalist Colton Dixon's debut album "Never Gone" has reached No. 1 on both the Christian Digital Songs survey and the Christian/Gospel Digital Songs chart, giving him the top spot in his first week on the charts.

The album was released on the Sparrow label, the same label as Idol contestant Mandisa. The song is the third single by an Idol contestant to reach number one on Christian Digital Songs, following Kris Allen’s “Live Like We’re Dying”  and Carrie Underwood’s “How Great Thou Art”.

In addition, Dixon becomes the 32nd contestant from the FOX competition to reach No. 1 on a Billboard chart . The musician from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, placed seventh in his season on Idol and is the sixth finalist from Season 11 to chart, following Phillip Phillps, Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet, Hollie Cavanagh and Skylar Laine
