Tennessee Craft Weekend Extravaganza Contest Set for 10/2-11

Tennessee Craft offers an exciting contest, Tennessee Craft Weekend Extravaganza, to promote and celebrate Tennessee craft artists and events across the state. The public is invited to participate in this enter-to-win contest August 11-31, 2015 and participate in Tennessee Craft Week, October 2-11. Enter to win! Share your favorite craft fair moment from one of the many fairs and festivals held in Tennessee OR share your favorite craft artist and their work, OR tell us why you love handmade craft in 100 characters or less. Be sure to include #TNCraftWeek in your entry. We will be sharing these entry posts on Twitter and Facebook. Follow and Like Tennessee Craft on Facebook and Twitter. Help us get the word out by re-tweeting and sharing all the fabulous shared moments.

Two winners will be selected by a random drawing of all entries and each will receive a Tennessee Craft Weekend Extravaganza package.

Trip #1-Nashville/Memphis Tennessee Craft: Includes free entry to the Tennessee Craft Fair, a handmade craft gift from Tennessee Craft, and free admission to the Parthenon. Also included: lunch at a local restaurant and a 1-night stay Friday, September 25, at the Nashville Marriott on West End Avenue. Winners drive to Memphis on Saturday to enjoy the incredible metal artists demonstrating live-action "Repair Days" and free admission to The National Ornamental Metal Museum. A $25 gas card will be provided for the drive.

Trip #2-East Tennessee Craft: Includes free admission to Dollywood for the National Southern Gospel and Harvest Celebration, with demonstrations of traditional Appalachian crafts by regional artists. Also included: a 1-night stay Saturday, October 10, at the Microtel in Pigeon Forge, free admission to the Museum of Appalachia for Tennessee Fall Homecoming, featuring music, craft demonstrations and a chance to tour the museum. A $25 gas card will be provided for the drive.

The Tennessee Craft Weekend Extravaganza Contest runs August 11-31. Two winners will be randomly selected and announced Tuesday, September 1, 2015. Tickets, vouchers and hotel information will be sent to the winners via mail. Trip #1 winner will have a photo made with the Director of Tennessee Craft at the fall fair to post on our Facebook page. Winners provide their own transportation to enjoy this Tennessee Craft Weekend Extravaganza. (Tennessee Craft employees and board members are not eligible to enter.)

• Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, professional training, gallery shows and workshops.

• Dollywood, National Southern Gospel and Harvest Celebration, demonstrations of traditional Appalachian crafts by regional artists in October.

• Tennessee Welcome Centers, each of the fourteen Welcome Centers across the state will feature a day of demonstration by a Tennessee Craft artist during Craft Week.
