The Aquarium of Niagara is one of only 20 institutions in the U.S. and Canada to feature the threatened Humboldt Penguins and, during the weekend of April 23 - 24, the fun centers on penguins and penguin-related activities. "If you haven't been to the Aquarium for Penguin Days before you owe it to your family to see what all the fun is about," said the Aquarium's Deputy Director, Gary Siddall. "This weekend is always popular but I'm amazed at how much better it gets every single year. The penguin encounters are always a thrill and this year we're adding new science experiments and crafts that teach children about conservation but in a really fun way."
"We will start building our new Penguin Exhibit and Interactive Classroom this fall. This new 1,600 square-foot exhibit will mimic the natural environment of these flightless birds and include a 15,000-gallon tank with above and below water viewing, terraced ledges and lighting plus air and water filtration. The classroom will be equipped with state of the art technology to facilitate education, conservation and ecology", said Supervisor of Exhibits, Dan Arcara. "What better way to appreciate and learn about these amazing birds than joining us for Penguin Days? It's a treat for young and old alike."
Bring everyone you know to the Aquarium of Niagara on April 23rd or 24th. You'll be entertained and educated.
The Aquarium of Niagara is open at 9:00 am seven days a week
