The St. Augustine Maritime Heritage Foundation presents its Inaugural St. Augustine Maritime Heritage Festival, a Viva 500 event, on Saturday and Sunday, October 26 and 27 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park, 11 Magnolia Ave., St. Augustine, Fla.
This family friendly event includes live entertainment, the Quick & Dirty Boat Building Competition and The Ponce de Leon Paddle Battle. There will also be an "Astillero de Perro" or Dog Agility Contest, a Rubber Duck Race, a Kid's Zone and food and beverage vendors.

The St. Augustine Maritime Heritage Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2010 to bring awareness of the rich maritime history of St. Augustine and Florida's Historic Coast. This is a Viva Florida 500 sanctioned event with the support of the St. Augustine Lighthouse, the St. Augustine Yacht Club, the City of St. Augustine, the Tourist Development Council and the Fountain of Youth.
Proceeds from this event will fund maritime educational programs and the completion of the Chalupa, an authentic 16th Century ship replica that iscurrently being built at the Fountain of Youth and will be launched as part of St. Augustine's 450 Commemoration in 2015.
