Mr. Rose-Burney will deliver a stimulating talk on the new nature preserve at Stella Niagara, along the Lower River. The Stella Niagara is a privately-owned, 29-acre preserve with over a quarter mile of shoreline. The preserve is one of the region's most ecologically and historically important places and now it's open for people to visit and appreciate. The preserve has a diverse collection of habitats including riparian zone, a large meadow, a forested area and vernal pools. These habitats support rare plants and animals such as the threatened Bald Eagle and Lake Sturgeon.
"Knowing about this unique and unspoiled preserve and seeing and learning how each of us can be better stewards of the environment is the reason behind this talk and a great addition to our series", says education curator, Sarah Courtney. "It will be worth your time to join us and Mr. Rose-Burney."
The lecture is free with admission to the Aquarium and begins promptly at 1 PM.
