IL TRITTICO, a screening of a show including Three One-Act Operas from The Royal Opera House in London: IL TABARRO, SUOR ANGELICA, and GIANNI SCHICCHI performs on February 12, at 11am. Music in this production is by Giacomo Puccini, sung in Italian with English Subtitles, running 176 minutes including two intermissions. From a performance of September, 2011. This show is conducted by Antonio Pappano, Stage Directed by Richard Jones, Royal Opera Chorus and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House. The screening takes place at Big Cinemas Manhattan Theater (239 East 59th Street).

Puccini's Il Trittico, a gem-box collection of three brief operas, runs the gamut from heart-wrenching drama to madcap farce. The tragic Il Tabarro and Suor Angelica are followed by the charming Gianni Schicchi, best known for its resplendent soprano aria “O mio babbino caro.” Lucio Gallo, Eva-Maria Westbroek, Anja Harteros, Anna Larsson and Ekaterina Siurina are featured throughout this very special evening. This is The Royal Opera’s first complete presentation of Puccini’s Il Trittico since 1965.
