Olga Peretyatko will make her Met role debut as Violetta in tonight's performance of Verdi's La Traviata, replacing Carmen Giannattasio, who is ill.

Ms. Peretyatko has sung Violetta at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg and the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, and will sing the role later this season with the Vienna State Opera and Deutsche Oper Berlin. She made her Met debut in 2014 as Elvira in Bellini's I Puritani. She has also sung Gilda in Verdi's Rigoletto with the company, both in the 2014-15 season and in the current season. Next spring, she will sing the title role in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor at the Met.

This evening's performance of La Traviata is conducted by Nicola Luisotti and also stars Atalla Ayan as Alfredo and Plácido Domingo as Germont.
