MY FAIR LADY and THE ELIXIR OF LOVE Additional Casting Announced At Opera Saratoga
Bill Army and Keith Jameson will star in MY FAIR LADY at Universal Preservation Hall.
Opera Saratoga has announced additional casting for its 65th summer festival productions of MY FAIR LADY and THE ELIXIR OF LOVE, which will be presented at Universal Preservation Hall from June 20–28.
The company's production of MY FAIR LADY stars Bill Army (The Band's Visit on Broadway) as Henry Higgins and Christine Taylor Price (She Loves Me at Opera Saratoga) as Eliza Doolittle. Newly announced cast members include Keith Jameson of the Metropolitan Opera as Alfred Doolittle and Amy Burton of The Juilliard School as Mrs. Higgins.
Burton previously appeared with Opera Saratoga as a young artist in the 1980s and returns to the company for the anniversary season.
THE ELIXIR OF LOVE will feature Shelèn Hughes Camacho (Alcina, Oper Frankfurt) as Adina, Joseph Parrish, a Young Concert Artists winner, as Sergeant Belcore, Dasol Lee as Dr. Dulcamara, and newly announced cast member WooYoung Yoon (Opera San José) as Nemorino.
Yoon previously participated in the company's Festival Artist program and was married on the grounds of Yaddo, a longtime artistic partner of Opera Saratoga.
Opera Saratoga will also celebrate its 65th season with a gala event on June 4 at Saratoga National Golf Course. Inspired by London's Covent Garden Flower Market, the evening will feature performances by Festival Artists and honor patrons John and Thalia Zizzo and Susi and Ken Ritzenberg, as well as supporters who have contributed more than $65,000 to the company over its history.
