LANCASTER, PA - November 5, 2014. For years, Opera Lancaster has performed it in schools and downtown Lancaster, now the organization is taking the show on the road when they present the holiday classic Amahl and the Night Visitors in Lancaster, York and Lebanon Counties.

The opera features an accomplished cast, sets costumes, dancers and chorus.

"Opera Lancaster is fortunate to have Kirsten Kunkle return to sing the role of the mother," show director and twenty year Met Opera veteran John Darrenkamp said. The feeling is mutual. "It has always been a pleasure to sing with Opera Lancaster" Kunkle exclaimed. "There are so many wonderful people involved with the company."

This is Kunkle's third time singing the role with the company. Kunkle's star is on the rise. She was a recent first-place winner of the prestigious American Protégé International Vocal Competition, which will lead to her Carnage Hall debut eight days after Amahl wraps!

Philip Norris stars as Amahl. Philip spent his 4th grade year at St. Thomas Choir School in New York City. Philip has appeared in the Fulton Theatre's Jr. Broadway productions, in Millersville University's The People's Shakespeare Project "Camp Will" as well as in OperaLancaster's Tosca as an acolyte (2011) and in Hansel and Gretel as a gingerbread child (2014). He spent his 4th grade year at St. Thomas Choir School in New York City and is currently a 6th grader at Landis Run Intermediate School in Manheim Township, PA.

Joining Kunkle and Norris are the Three Magi: Ben Williams as Melchior; Garrett Obrycki as Balthazar and Christian Seay as Kaspar. Moses Marischal rounds out the vocal cast in the role of The Page. Dancers are from the Silver Spring Dance Company, who also appeared in last year's production.

There will be four performances: Friday, December 5, 2014 (7:30PM) at Heidelberg UCC in Downtown York
Sunday, December 7, 2014 (3:00PM) at Covenant UMC in Downtown Lancaster
Friday, December 12, 2014 (7:30PM) at the Ware Center in Downtown Lancaster
Saturday, December 13, 2014 (3:00PM) at Miller Chapel at Lebanon Valley College
