Zoe & The Bear to Play Live at Hotel Cafe This Friday

Hot off the April release of their debut EP THE LOST FILES MIXTAPE (available everywhere digitally), indie music duo Zoe & The Bear are playing their first live show this Friday, May 15th at The Hotel Café.

Opening for the duo will be acclaimed singer/songwriter Dana Williams, who you might recognize from the fantastically touching Apple commercial that aired over the holidays last December.

In 2014 ZOE SOUL was spotlighted in Nylon Magazine's Young Hollywood Next Gen features for her lead role in the Universal/Blumhouse feature film THE PURGE: ANARCHY. The film has since gone on to gross over $100 million worldwide. Zoe currently recurs on BET's SINGLE LADIES for which the lead single from Zoe & The Bear's debut THE LOST FILES MIXTAPE entitled "Little Balloon" is currently being featured across all promotional platforms in support of the show. Zoe was previously seen in theaters in the Warner Brothers/Alcon Entertainment feature film PRISONERS playing Viola Davis and Terrence Howard's daughter "Eliza Birch". The film received exceedingly positive reviews and topped the box office in its opening weekend. Zoe spent 3 years in the series regular role of Kaci Reynolds on BET's Reed Between The Lines opposite Tracee Ellis-Ross and Malcolm-Jamal Warner. Zoe has also made appearances on television shows like All of Us and What I Like About You.

J "THE BEAR" BYNUM was born and raised in Los Angeles and was introduced to music through his parents at an early age. They played with the likes of Marvin Gaye, Gladys Knight, Diana Ross and many more legends of music. J grew up studying music, which led to him touring the world and playing with artists such as Ray Charles, Bonnie Raitt, and Jon B, amongst many other acts in his career. J shifted his focus to songwriting and producing at the age of 18 and has since worked with the likes of Akon, Rick Ross, Kat DeLuna, Mario, Jasmine Villegas, New Kids on the Block, Michael Bolton, and Jim Jones. J has now teamed up with actress and singer Zoe Soul to create the unique and fresh sound for Zoe & The Bear.
