VISTA KICKS Announce New Album TWENTY SOMETHING NIGHTMARE and El Rey Theater Concert

It resembles a rock 'n' roll rebirth brewing in Los Angeles...

Following a string of sold-out shows at legendary spots like The Troubadour and strong critical praise, buzzed-about indie band VISTA KICKS share the details for their second full-length offering, TWENTY SOMETHING NIGHTMARE--due out Friday, July 13 via the group's own Little Hook Records. In order to shock this 18-track opus to life, the quartet personally co-produced the music and it proved to be a seamless follow-up to 2017's well-received BOOTY SHAKERS BALL album.

"The creative process was quick," said Derek Thomas (vocals). "We wrote most of it after recording BOOTY SHAKERS BALL. We had about 10 days to arrange and workshop everything and a month to record. Our aim is to make songs that are both satisfying to us and useful to people. We're growing, and our music is growing too."

Once again, the band amplifies the scope of their signature style as they maintain the edge that made them, "The Originators of Booty Shaking Rock N' Roll." This journey kicks off with the slick strut and wild riffing of opener"Million Dollar Seller," shuffling between a staunch groove and bluesy bombast. The rustle and bustle of "Victim Of The Times" drips into the searing melodies of "Live, You're Gonna Die," which culminates on the carpe diem command, "You've got to live, because you're gonna die." The clean guitar of "I Can't Think Of Anybody But U" transmits a lovelorn plea that's as impassioned as it is infectious. Everything culminates on the epic title track."Twenty Something Nightmare" sails from stark and sparse delivery into a resounding finale of robust energy befitting of their reputation. Most significantly, these 18 anthems etch out a raw, relatable, and real picture of millennial life.

About the music, Thomas adds, "being a twenty something right now is a nightmare. Sometimes, everything feels wrong without an explanation. 'Victim of the Times' has to do with how right and wrong changes over time and sometimes people get in trouble for things that society deems wrong one day and right the next. 'Live, You're Gonna Die' encourages people to find fulfillment in life whilst accepting the inevitability of death."

2018 is shaping up to be a breakout year for VISTA KICKS. Not only did theysell out The Troubadour in February of this year, they're set next for a headlining show at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on Thursday, September 20. Tickets are on sale to the public this Friday, May 4 at10:00am PT.

VISTA KICKS will also make a festival appearance at this year's KABBOO Del Mar in September after recently headlining CSUN Sol Fest and sharing the KFMA Day stage in Tucson alongside A Perfect Circle and Stone Temple Pilots. Recent acclaim has come courtesy of Buzzbands.LA, Pancakes & Whiskey, Pure Grain Audio,Blurred Culture and more in addition to delivering a powerhouse performance on Billboard Live.

VISTA KICKS--four lifelong friends from Northern California who grew up obsessed with the sounds of AC/DC, The Beatles, Black Sabbath, The Bee Gees and Michael Jackson--began playing anywhere and everywhere with a stage by the age of 16, taking over supper clubs, parties, and backyard barbecues. After their single "Make It Real" cracked 2 million Spotify streams, they made a collective decision to forego college and trade their small Sacramento suburb for Hollywood, forming VISTA KICKS in late 2015.
