VIP Concert Performance of LOUIS-AND-ELLA Set for The Cutting Room, 7/15
On Tuesday, July 15, Onemoe Music & Palm Beach Performing Arts Center will present a 75 minutes VIP Concert performance of LOUIS-AND-ELLA!, by Trent Armand Kendall (award winning writer & star of Picture Incomplete), Music Direction / Arrangements by David Snyder (Mr. Confidential, Plaid Tidings, Forever Plaid) and Direction /Choreography by Jeff Whiting (Associate/Resident Director for Bullets Over Broadway, Big Fish and Tony Nominated The Scottsboro Boys). The VIP concert will take place at The Cutting Room (44 E 32nd Street) doors open at 5PM and the presentation begin promptly at 5:30PM.
"Too Marvelous for Words," LOUIS-AND-ELLA! reunites The Architect of Jazz and The First Lady of Song for one magical night in heaven as St. Peter and his team of musical divinities help Louis and Ella finally cross over! Featuring over 25 songs including some of the most enduring hits of all time such as "Something to Live For" and "What a Wonderful World."
The irrepressible Louis Armstrong is played by award winning performer, Trent Armand Kendall (the award winning LA premiere of Kander & Ebb's The Scottsboro Boys, The Color Purple, Into The Woods, Bat Boy, London's Five Guys Named Moe) with the melancholy, but luminous Ella Fitzgerald performed by NaTasha Yvette Williams (A Night With Janis Joplin, The Gershwin's Porgy & Bess, The Color Purple, London's Gone With The Wind). The company also includes Lawrence Clayton (Les Miserables, It Ain't Nothin' But The Blues, Once Upon A Mattress, The Civil War) as St. Peter, Inga Ballard (Ragtime), and Jennifer Fouche (Sisters the musical) as the Jubilees. The stellar cast is backed by the five piece band, The New Hot Five: Darrl Ivey (Music direction / Piano), Eli Asher (Trumpet), Belden Bullock (Upright Bass), Damon DueWhite (Drums / Percussion) and Sean Nowell (Tenor Sax).
