Sara Bareilles appeared on this morning's TODAY and spoke about her upcoming project, 'Waitress, the Musical', the American Repertory Theater's stage adaptation of the 2007 Adrienne Shelly film "Waitress." The 'Brave' singer will pen the score for the musical.

"It's sweet, quirky and full of heart," the pop singer said of the original film, adding "I grew up on musical theater so it is a love and my gosh, it is amazing to be here in New York, the talent here is unbelievable."

Bareilles went on to say the show is expected to go up next summer at Boston's A.R.T. Check out the appearance below!

Bareilles recently announced a U.S. summer headling tour to be called 'Little Black Dress.' The tour will consist of 24 dates, launching in Chicago on July 10th.

Tickets are now on sale. Emily King,Hannah Georgas and Lucius will be featured as supporting acts throughout the tour.
