Tune in to JANELLE MONÁE'S Global Livestream at Red Bull Music Festival Berlin 2018

A singer, songwriter, producer and actress, Janelle Monáe has been electrifying audiences with her hybrid brand of Afrofuturist funk, soul and R&B since her 2010 debut LP The ArchAndroid. Most recently, the Kansas City native and Wondaland label head has starred in two award-winning films, Moonlight and Hidden Figures, and released 2018's critically-acclaimed audiovisual piece Dirty Computer. A fierce activist in her public life, Monáe uses science fiction and sonic elements from various styles and genres to explore themes of race, class and sexuality - which has established her as one of the most forward-thinking creative voices of her generation. As part of Red Bull Music Festival Berlin, we welcome the musical android to the former silent movie theatre Delphi for a public lecture about her life and career.

Janelle Monáe's conversation will be livestreamed online globally via Red Bull Music's Facebook and YouTube starting today, Friday September 14th at 2pm EDT (11am PDT / 8pm CET). The live lecture broadcast will have an approximate duration of 60 minutes and will be available for the next 24 hours.

On the tail of her latest, most personal and artistically ambitious album Dirty Computer, Monáe will sit on the famous Academy couch at this unique public lecture at the Red Bull Music Festival Berlin, delving into the prolific range of musical influences and panoply of creative endeavours at the same time she connects to fans across the globe.

The Red Bull Music Festival Berlin is bringing together a powerful roster of artists for its 2018 Berlin edition. Taking place in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of the Red Bull Music Academy, from September 8 to October 12, the city will play host to over 100 artists for an array of one-of-a-kind performances, lectures and installations.
