Three Decades of Classic Rock Set for Houston Symphony Pops Concert

Principal POPS Conductor Michael Krajewski will lead the Houston Symphony and guest vocalists Shem von Schroeck, Lori Wilshire and Micah Wilshire in a concert of classic rock music at 8 p.m. May 6-7 and 2:30 p.m. May 8.

Journey, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac & More will conclude the 2016-17 BBVA Compass POPS Series and will be comprised of music from bands and musical acts of the 60s, 70s and 80s. Journey's "Don't Stop Believin," Don Henley's "Hotel California" and Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" will be on the program, as well as hits from Billy Joel, Chicago, Crosby Stills & Nash and Kansas.

Guest vocalist Shem von Schroeck has performed in all 50 states and 37 countries as a singer, multi- instrumentalist and music director in a diverse range of genres including opera, pop and rock. He will be joined onstage by guest vocalists Micah and Lori Wilshire, who made up the former duo Wilshire. They have toured with Seal and Train, as well as performed on "Late Night," "The Sharon Osbourne Show," "The Wayne Brady Show" and "Pepsi Smash." Additionally, their 2003 hit single "Special" rose to the top of the Billboard Top 20 charts. Both Micah and Lori also maintain individual writing and recording careers.

The concert will take place at Jones Hall for the Performing Arts, 615 Louisiana Street, in Houston's Theater District.
