THIS IS US Composer Siddhartha Khosla Moves to ASCAP

ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, the world leader in performing rights and advocacy for music creators, today announced that film and television composer Siddhartha Khosla has chosen ASCAP for representation of public performances of his extensive music repertoire. Khosla is knownfor his delicate and emotionally powerful scores for NBC's hit Golden Globe and Emmy-winning drama series, This Is Us. His original song for the show, "We Can Always Come Back To This," ranked #12 on iTunes Top 100 songs, #1 in the Billboard Blues Charts for four consecutive weeks, and earned Khosla an award nomination from the Guild of Music Supervisors for Best Song/Recording for Television. Khosla also co-wrote the song, "Invisible Ink," which was praised as an emotional highlight of the current season of This Is Us, performed by Mandy Moore.

In addition to his excellent work on This Is Us, Khosla creates music for programs across the spectrum of audio visual media. He currently scores the ABC comedy series The Kids Are Alright and Hulu's original series Marvel's Runaways. Later this year, Khosla will score Netflix's hip-hop film Beats, and Hulu's eight-episode limited series Looking for Alaska, based on the novel by John Green. He also scored E!'s first scripted drama series, The Royals, and composed original songs for the musical film Basmati Blues.

Beyond film and television, Khosla was invited as the musical guest for First Lady Michelle Obama's 2013 Diwali celebration at the White House, where he delivered an emotional performance of several of his original songs.

ASCAP Chief Executive Officer Elizabeth Matthews commented, "Siddhartha is one of the most promising talents in film and television composing today. His work for This Is Usbrought his music into the homes and hearts of millions of TV viewers and Hollywood is lining up projects that deserve his singular touch. We are excited to welcome Siddhartha to the ASCAP family.'"

Khosla said, "The immensely talented and passionate folks at ASCAP are industry leaders in championing and advocating on behalf of composers and songwriters. I feel incredibly fortunate for this opportunity, and am absolutely thrilled to be part of the ASCAP family for the years to come."

Khosla grew up living back and forth between the U.S and India, where his multicultural love of music flourished. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, he garnered commercial and critical success with his band Goldspot. The band released three studio albums and had songs featured in This Is Us, How I Met Your Mother, and The O.C. as well as in major advertising campaigns for Google, Target and Apple.
