Stones Throw's Gabriel Garzón-Montano Drops Live Video, Announces SXSW Shows

On the heels of his debut album Jardín released last month on Stones Throw Records, Brooklyn-born singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Gabriel Garzón-Montano announces a series of SXSW performances that kick off March 15th. Following a sold-out NYC release show and UK/EU tour, Gabriel shares a live performance of "The Game" recorded at Stones Throw Studios in Los Angeles. Watch it here.

With acclaim from the likes of NPR, Pitchfork, Entertainment Weekly and more, Jardín is a ten track collection that displays how his formidable skills have come to fruition since the release of his 2014 debut EP, Bishouné: Alma del Huila. Recorded at Waterfront Studios in Hudson, NY with analog guru Henry Hirsch, Gabriel tracked drums, bass, guitar, piano, and synthesizers direct to 2" tape, adding percussion, digital programming, and several layers of his own vocals to create a lush sonic environment.

On Jardín, he sings of the struggles and uncertainties of the many-layered game that is America today, from the specific doubt and double consciousness of the first-generation hustle to the universal challenges of love, legacy, and exploring the maze of one's own mind. As Gabriel preps for SXSW and a national tour this spring, stay tuned for more to be announced!
