Blending 80's influences with pumping, high energy dance tracks, the incredibly fun LA-based duo Story of the Running Wolf has staked its claim at the crossroads of retro and future, delivering an experience that has been described as "an intergalactic John Hughes party on Neptune." Dance-beat fueled optimism and sparkling synth riffs are tempered by an undercurrent of lyrical tension that is not without hope, but struggles for something just out of reach. The pair recently released their EP Electric, and today they are thrilled to premiere their new video for the EP's title track via Nerdist.

The John Hughes inspired video tells the story of two young boys determined to build a musical robot after discovering a broken synthesizer in the trash of a pawn shop. In true Weird Science fashion, the boys bring to life the beautiful femme fatale, Synthia, with floppy disks and welding tools in hand. She then whisks them away to a colorful, pulsing dance party. As the title "Electric" would suggest, this video is an energetic bolt of pure fun.

With performances at CMJ, SXSW, TBD Fest, Lightning in a Bottle and Palm Springs Pride under their belt, the band recorded the Electric EP in 2014 alongside producer Harlan Silverman (Mayer Hawthorne, Madi Diaz). The end product, Electric, is a collection of songs that are unabashedly fun, straightforward, and dance inducing. For those in the Los Angeles area, who are interested in experiencing Story of the Running Wolf in action, come join the party @ V Lounge w/ Washed Out on 9/18.
