Republican Hair Drops New Post-Punk Single CHAOTIC GOOD

Nashville's genre-bending band of misfitsRepublican Hair is excited to release their new single "Chaotic Good" today. The track is available via all DSPs and follows this summer's tongue-in-cheek protest anthem "f A Bomb," which was featured on Spotify's Rock This playlist (4.3 MILLION followers). On the heels of highly successful Northeast and Midwest tours, you can catch Republican Hair live next month at Lightning 100's Festivus Charity Show in Nashville on December 7th with Dispatch.

The brainchild of hyper-creative front-man Luke Dick - a former adjunct philosophy professor and current songsmith for some of country music's biggest stars includingMiranda Lambert, Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, and Kacey Musgraves - Republican Hair is an amalgamation of the punk and new wave music he grew up listening to in Oklahoma. The band is a sonic departure from his work on Nashville's Music Row, but still channels the outside-the-box songwriting and quirky lyrics Dick has become known for. Republican Hair's playful-yet-thoughtful approach has garnered admiration from outlets like NPR, who's Ann Powers stated "Dick has a strong voice and vision in his own right, and it manifests in stories more creative - and funnier - than what Music Row usually offers," during the band's World Cafe session, and Rolling Stone Country who featured Dick with an in-depth interview, calling Republican Hair his "irreverent Nashville punk band," and adding that "Dick is a something of an anomaly in the Nashville songwriting community."

Dick has also been busy filming and scoring an autobiographical feature-length documentary titled "Red Dog," which chronicles his childhood years growing up at The Red Dog, a rowdy and popular strip club in Oklahoma City where his single mother danced. Only a toddler at the time, Dick was raised around drug dealers, outlaws, and addicts who he once considered family. In the film, he revisits the infamous strip club, interviews a cast of real-life characters including his (very forthcoming) mother and siblings, and discusses the journey he's taken to give his own family a different life. "Red Dog" is slated to hit the film festival circuit early next year with the soundtrack to follow, and you can check out the official teaser HERE.
