Paulo Szot to Play Cafe Carlyle 9/14-9/25

Tony Award winner Paulo Szot is set to make his Cafe Carlyle debut September 14 through 25.

Paulo Szot won the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World Awards for his performance in South Pacific. Earlier this season he made a triumphant Metropolitan Opera debut in their new production of Shostakovich's The Nose. He has appeared in New York with the New York City Opera in L'Elisir d'Amore, Le Nozze di Figaro, Carmen. Other U.S. and international operatic credits include Le Nozze di Figaro, Boston Lyric Opera; Count Des Grieux in Le Portrait de Manon, Teatro Liceu, Barcelona; Marcello in La Boheme, Theatre National de Bordeaux, his European debut as Onegin in Eugene Onegin, Opera Marseille and The Merry Widow, also at Opera Marseille. Upcoming engagements include: Cosi Fan Tutte, Opera Paris - Garnier. A native of Brazil, Mr. Szot is the winner of that country's 2000 Premio Carlos Gomes Award for Best Vocal Performance.

Szot's schedule is as follows: Tues.-Fri. at 8:45 p.m.  Sat. at 8:45 p.m. & 10:45 p.m. Tues.-Thurs.: General seating, $65 per person; VIP seating, $100 per person; Bar, $40 per person. Dinner required. Fri. & Sat.: General seating, $75 per person; VIP seating, $125 per person; Bar, $45 per person. Dinner required.
