O'Brother Releases New Album DISILLUSION

O'Brother has announced the release of their sophomore studio album Disillusion, slated for today, August 20th, 2013, via Triple Crown Records. The band ventured out of their hometown of Atlanta, GA to the bitter cold of Long Island this past winter to hole up in the studio with engineer/producer Mike Sapone (Brand New, Public Enemy, Daytrader). The result is a heavier, refined follow-up to the band's critically acclaimed 2012 debut Garden Window, which the Wall Street Journal's Jim Fusilli described as "...a brutalizing blend of industrial rock, alt-metal and metal featuring a three-guitar attack...."
After wrapping things in the studio, the band hit the road this spring with the legendary Alice In Chains for a stint of support dates and along the way, joined some of rock's biggest names at this year's Rock on the Range. The band is extremely excited to continue on the festival tip by making their first ever appearance atLollapalooza in Chicago this August just weeks before Disillusion is set to drop. They'll be kicking off the Sunday line-up and will be sharing the day with acts likePhoenix, Vampire Weekend, and The Cure.
O'Brother - Anton Dang (bass), Johnny Dang (guitar), Jordan McGhin (guitar), Tanner Merritt (vocals, guitar), and Michael Martens (drums) - released their first EP The Death of Day in 2009 with help from friend and fellow musician Andy Hull(Manchester Orchestra, Bad Books). Hull would team up with his bandmate Robert McDowell to produce their debut Garden Window, which earned the band the ears of critics and fans alike. In addition to the Wall Street Journal, the album had bothGuitar World and Decibel comparing them to Radiohead and the Melvins andConsequence of Sound threw in Queens of the Stone Age and Tool comparisons, summing things up with "...Garden Window feels really fing loud, and does this really fing well...."
From the band's inception, they have been strong believers in perfecting their craft by touring relentlessly, spending upwards of 200 days playing shows each year. In the past three years, they have been on countless national tours, sharing the stage with Manchester Orchestra, The Dear Hunter, Cage the Elephant, Alice In Chains, Thrice,Caspian, and Circa Survive along with a handful of headlining tours.Disillusion marks the growth and resolve of a band coming into their own.
