New Philharmonic and Music Director/Conductor Kirk Muspratt kick off NP's 35th Anniversary Season with "Joy! Beethoven" at the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, located at 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn, Ill. Friday, Sept. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 1 at 8 p.m.

200 musicians, including guest artists Aurora's Michelle Areyzaga (soprano), Winfield's Denise Gamez (mezzo), Chicago's John Sumners (tenor) and Chicago's Corey Crider (baritone), along with the Northwest Indiana Symphony Chorus under the direction of Nancy Menk, will join together for this spectacular program of Beethoven's works including the overture from the acclaimed "Egmont, op. 84;" and "Symphony No. 9, op. 125 in D minor," Beethoven's last and most influential symphony, considered one of the greatest compositions ever written.
