In 2014, Gretchen Wilson stepped away from an 11-year rocket ride to be a full time mom to her teenage daughter and focus on one of her musical passions - songwriting. She recently went back in the studio with award-winning producer Blake Chancey, and her first single, "Rowdy," from an upcoming album is set to drop at country radio this Friday, November 4, 2016. Plans are also in the works for Gretchen to hit the road on a new tour next year.

"As a single mom, I knew I could never get the time back with my daughter if I continued the pace I was on," said Gretchen. "Grace is really talented and very involved in school, and I didn't want to miss anything, so I just put everything on hold." Over the last two years, Gretchen hunkered down to write...and write and write songs that had been bottling up over the years. She hit the studio with Chancey, and they started working on her first new music since 2013's Right On Time. Gretchen wrote "Rowdy" with Trent Tomlinson and Shane Minor. A new album is slated for release in early 2017, and her longtime booking agent WME is working on a tour to kick off the middle of next year. "I'm as excited about the music we've cut as I am about my first album, and I can't wait to get back on the road to share it with everyone!"
