With election season in full swing, Motion City Soundtrack joined forces with Rock the Vote (www.rockthevote.com) this month to encourage young voters everywhere to register and participate in local and presidential elections. The band headed to Charlotte amidst the Democratic National Convention to perform as headliners alongside the Foo Fighters, Asher Roth, and others earlier this month before embarking on their second European tour in support of their fifth studio album, Go -- out now on Epitaph. Kerrang! caught the guys in London this month and gave the show a 5K RAVE review stating simply, "If this gig was a party, Motion City Soundtrack would be the perfect hosts, crafting a set list to guarantee that no-one goes home until they've had the best night ever."

Upon the band's return from Europe, Motion City Soundtrack will bring the party back Stateside for a full nationwide headlining tour, with special guests Jukebox, the Ghost and Now, Now. The kick-off event for the second US leg will take place at The Rave II in Milwaukee on October 7th. The show will be a special benefit event, hosted by Motion City Soundtrack to benefit their long-time road merchandise manager and close friend, Beth Raebel. Beth was injured in a motorcycle accident earlier this year, and the show's proceeds will go directly towards her hospital bills (to donate to Beth's Kickstarter Campaign visit: http://www.gofundme.com/wonkybonkers). The show will feature the full touring lineup, plus special guest William Beckett (formerly of ... The Academy Is). From there, the band will make their way around the country.

The band's fifth studio album Go was released this summer via Epitaph Records and the band's label The Boombox Generation. The lead single, "True Romance" has since been making inroads at commercial radio with highlights in Denver and Charlotte, where the band has seen great reception and extensive airplay. The release of the album was followed by a sold-out national headlining tour in June and July and performances at some of Asia's biggest summer festivals, including Jisan Valley Rock Festival in South Korea and Nano-Mugen Festival in Japan.

In addition, their current single "True Romance" will be featured on the soundtrack for "The Greatest Film Ever Rolled," a movie by Doug Benson, alongside Sleeper Agent and others. On November 6th, the band will also release a limited edition 7" as the final installment of their Making Moves partnership with Drexel University where they curated and produced a series of limited edition 7"s by new and upcoming artists. The MCS vinyl will feature two brand new tracks, "Severance" and "Major Leagues," and with the digital version, fans will have access to a bonus track, a cover of Rilo Kiley's "Picture of Success." Take a listen to "Major Leagues" which was premiered exclusively over at Rolling Stone this week by clicking here.

Be sure to catch Motion City Soundtrack as they make their way through your city this fall. See below for all confirmed tour dates.
