Mandy Groves Releases First Solo Music Project Just In Time For Christmas
On tuesday, December 4th, Washington Park Band singerand notable commercial actress, Mandy Groves, released her widely anticipated Phases EP. Filled with stories of love, hurt, and triumph the project narrates the ups and downs of relationships from fearless beginnings to destructive ends.
"I wanted to put together a story depicting the highs and lows of love and how quickly things can change from good to bad, but most importantly from bad to good. I write love songs and I really wanted to express every type of love, healthy, unhealthy, new, old, forever, fleeting," she said. "I was in a mentally and physically abusive relationship for years lasting from adolescence to early adulthood and although I had dealt with it and moved on, I never really told my story. That's when I began writing 'Glass'. I just remember always holding in the secrets that I had, always hiding my relationship and what was really going on. I think that if I would have just opened my mouth to my family and friends and got angry for myself, it wouldn't have lasted so long."
A true triple threat, Mandy is well-known in Colorado as a dancer, a singer, and a commercial actress. Her credits include Colorado Lottery, Bank of Colorado, Coors Light, Dunkin' Donuts, Dollar General, Mars Wrigley and more. "I was on [a commercial] set for 6 weeks straight during the leg-work of the album. My schedule was completely nuts and I barely had time to sleep, let alone learn 80 pages of lines, film commercials, audition for a soap opera, record music and perform in my band. I really did not know how I was mentally or physically going to pull it off. It was a real test but I learned that this is my true calling and I can survive the busy road that lies ahead!"
Phases is now available to stream and download on all major music platforms.
