That blissful moment where we drift off to sleep at night can be the most relaxing part of the day, but for some, that moment of calm can also be a total nightmare caused by unusual sensory phenomena that lead to uninvited hallucinations. "This song, Wrinkle Pillow was written about my Hypnagogic Hallucinations," explains Lucky Shivers' singer/guitarist Nicholas Stevenson, "where sometimes in a half awake state I see things that aren't there. Like big old chandeliers, floating guitars, faces in wrinkly pillows - and the worst was a guy in white sports gear peeing in the corner. I wanted to talk about that and use some really kitsch drum samples I found."

Wrinkle Pillow is the lo-fi, bedroom recorded B-side to Lucky Shivers' debut single, Human By Night. A catchy slacker indie track that is accompanied by a wonderful homemade phone video made for just £10, a green screen and some tinfoil.

Human by Night is the first release from Lucky Shivers, a 4-piece made up of four friends from London and Northampton who've been working on a record above a karate studio in Leicester. Fronted by the half American, half illustrator Nicholas, and his long-time friend and collaborator, handsome dramatic performer Kieran, the duo are elevated substantially by the talented cat lady Jo and Claw Crane Machine expert Gareth who they met at a Christmas party.

This catchy debut single and B-side is available on a glittery, limited edition cassette at their live shows and also available now on itunes via the Shipping Forecast Music Company.
