Los Lobos Comes to Poway OnStage 3/16 Image GRAMMY winners Los Lobos bring their Latin-infused East LA rock to Poway OnStage for one-night-only Friday, March 16, 2018 at 8:00pm This acoustic show will cover the band's 30-year career. Of Los Lobos, Billboard Magazine said "While often cited as one of the great bands of Latino Rock, Los Lobos' eclectic sound in fact defined them as a vital example of America's cultural melting pot."

"We're a Mexican-American band, and no word describes America like immigrant. Most of us are children of immigrants, so it's perhaps natural that the songs we create celebrate America in this way." So says Louie Perez, the "poet laureate" and primary wordsmith of Los Lobos."

"We loved presenting David and Louie in 2009, so we're excited to bring the entire band to Poway in 2018" says Michael Rennie President and CEO, Poway OnStage "Los Lobos has an incredible catalog, eclectic while still staying true to their roots. This acoustic show gives our audience a chance to hear Los Lobos unadorned, unfiltered and unplugged, in our snug 800 seat venue."

In the thirty years that have passed since Los Lobos released their debut album, Just Another Band from East L.A. Louie Perez, calls their mix of rock, Tex-Mex, country, folk, R&B, blues and traditional Spanish and Mexican music "the soundtrack of the barrio." Says bandmate Cesar Rosas "When I listen to our catalog, doing things more spontaneously in the studio has led to some of our best work." Adds Perez "Unlike many bands that write, gather and catalog material between studio releases, Los Lobos prefers to create their magic on the fly."

Los Lobos were already well known, Sunset Strip regulars and a GRAMMYAward winning band (Best Mexican-American/Tejano Music Performance) by the time they recorded their major label debut How Will The Wolf Survive? in 1984. Although the album's name and title song were inspired by a National Geographic article about real life wolves in the wild, the band-David Hidalgo, Louie Perez, Cesar Rosas, Conrad Lozano and Steve Berlin -saw parallels with their struggle to gain mainstream rock success while maintaining their Mexican roots.

The band continues with their original line up intact
