Lindsey Luff Releases 'Until It's True'; Self-titled LP Out 5/19

By:

Now in Brooklyn by way of Memphis, singer and songwriter Lindsey Luff tenderly combines Americana and folk-pop for a bright yet nuanced sound. A team effort, her self-titled debut album Lindsey Luff will be released May 19 and was co-written with a small group of collaborators including The Lone Bellow's Brian Elmquist. Described as "a soaring love song that captures young love in its prime" by PopMatters, listen to the new track "Until It's True" which Elmquist co-wrote

"Lindsey Luff has such a unique voice and a story to tell," Elmquist explained. "This song struck me from the beginning, and defines her writing, as it lifts you out of the cynicism so typical these days and takes you to a place where you want to genuinely believe in something. I'm really excited for folks to hear this music."
Luff took a similar approach to the recording process, filling the studio with guests - including singer/songwriter Sandra McCracken - while decorating her songs with guitar, violin, piano, pedal steel, harmonies, bass, and the steady pulse of percussion. The result is a lush, lovely album whose songs don't overshadow the challenging circumstances that birthed them.
Specifically of "Until It's True", Luff said it was "originally inspired by Elmquist after he first heard my song 'Wishing Well'. We started playing around with it and "Until It's True" came to be. To me, this song is a reckless love song of sorts."
