Kota The Friend Releases 'Anything' with Angel Haze, Childish Major, Sylvan LaCue Brooklyn's own Kota the Friend woke up on the right side of the bed this morning releasing a surprise EP, "ANYTHING". "ANYTHING" via FLTBYS, arrives today at all digital music retailers and streaming services. The robust 10-track EP features Angel Haze, Childish Major, Sylvan Lacue, Chris Scholar, KAMAU, Chelsea Reject, Khary and Hello Oshay-- with production from Kota himself, 4k, 1994 and Mantra, among others.

In his return from his Sophomore EP, "Paloma Beach", Kota the Friend was triggered to release this project as a love child of music and comrade. Working along side Solange's producer Blue (@MixedbyBlue) and fellow artists that represent the direction of music and those who should be spotlighted this project proved to be soothing for Kota in the process. His "Justice League" attempt to bring attention to authentic lyricists and fight against industry trends was top priority and spurned this release. When asked about the project he stated:

" The project just felt needed, it felt right. It's hard to watch all these "music lovers" talk about what's hot or next and exclude so many artists that make music, that actually moves forward our industry. So I thought of it as good vs evil and we have to fight that. I teamed up with artists I love, those my fans have been asking me to work with and discovered new artists. We're not just taking seconds and this project represents an alliance of talent that wants to fight for the music they love--not music people are paid to love."

Leading up to the release of his sophomore EP, Brooklyn Rapper has sat down with Beats 1/ Hot 97's Ebro Darden, Sirius Radio's Satik Selektah, been featured on , Afropunk, XXL, Highsnobiety, Knockturnal , Britz and Beats- all sharing the same sentiments as Earmilk that the MC "cements his status as one of the clearest and most interesting voices to come out of Brooklyn in a long time."

He has continued to earn the ears and hearts of fans since his debut EP "Palm Tree Liquor"-- which received glowing reviews from outlets such as: Billboard, MILK, FADER, Pigeons and Planes, VIBE, XXL,The SOURCE, Village Voice, Hip-Hop Wired, GENIUS, RESPECT -- has critics and fans alike, agreeing with NYLON, deeming him "The coolest new indie rapper." This ultimately has helped Kota the Friend to revitalize the NY scene all from his Clinton Hill stoop. Garnering over 3.9M+ streams on online, he has created an undeniable buzz for himself proving he is truly one to watch.
