Jeff Simmermon's 'And I Am Not Lying' Now Available on Vinyl via Dischord Records

Storytelling comedian Jeff Simmermon recently released his debut album And I Am Not Lying, premiering at #1 on the iTunes comedy charts. The album is now available on hot pink vinyl via the Dischord Records web store. You can pre-order the vinyl, which should be available in mid-November, HERE

Dischord Records is a Washington, D.C.-based independent record label (Fugazi, Minor Threat) specializing in the independent punk rock music of the D.C.-area music scene. Their mailorder department sells other notable DC related releases.

Jeff Simmermon is the first and only standup comedian whose work is distributed by Dischord Records.

A native of the DC/Virginia area, Simmermon was recently profiled by the prestigious Washington Post Magazine about the album, an oratory carnival that tackles Virginia's controversial Confederate history and lax gun laws as well as detailing his piano-playing chicken band Royal Quiet Deluxe, dinner with the Reverend Al Sharpton, slaughtering kangaroos in the Australian outback, furious empathy on the New York subway and much more.

The album ends with a track by Simmermon's former band featuring the comedian backing two of the aforementioned chickens with percussive typewriter.

Jeff Simmermon is a storyteller, standup comic and the producer/performer behind 'And I Am Not Lying,' a variety show that combines stand-up, storytelling, burlesque, sideshow and music at UCB East in NYC. He's won multipleMoth StorySLAMS, including a GrandSLAM and his stories have appeared on This American Life, The Moth's podcast and in written form in The Paris Review Daily.
