Ferris & Sylvester Release Stunning Video For New Single SICKNESS

Ferris & Sylvester have released the stunning video for their new single 'Sickness'. The video premiered with The Independent who said, "It opens with Issy Ferris's throaty, tremulous vocals and a Nashville twang on the electric guitar, before a harmony with Archie Sylvester bursts into life."

The video launches as the critically acclaimed duo embark on their first ever headline UK tour, starting with a sold out show at Leeds Oporto tonight (Feb 4th). The band are playing nine dates across the UK and in Dublin this month, with sold out dates throughout including London's The Lexington, which they play on February 11th.

'Sickness' is an exciting taste of the raw and powerful new sound from Ferris & Sylvester. It's something fans can expect to hear more of with new music teased on their headline tour. With their combination of roots and blues, the duo deliver a sound which sits somewhere between Jack White and First Aid Kit.

The video, directed by Sam Parish-Rookes, captures the pair as they bid farewell to the ordinary, and journey through a mist-hewn woodland to much darker and sinister places. With a raging fire at the centre, the film concludes as the couple celebrate nonconformity by burning their possessions whilst concealing their faces with animal masks. Although dark undertones run throughout, there is a distinct feeling of liberation, as if this is just the beginning.

Regarding the video Ferris & Sylvester say, "We filmed the 'Sickness' music video on the wettest, coldest weekend in December in The Black Down Hills, Somerset. We worked from sunrise until late, and it was one of the hardest and most rewarding projects we've worked on. We wanted the video to be wild and powerful, like the song. Sam worked tirelessly with us on this concept for months and the end result is something we're all immensely proud of. It's well worth a watch - guitars are destroyed in the making of this video."

After the duo's killer start to 2019 with 'Sickness', the song has been quick to prove a hit at radio with plays coming across BBC 6Music, Radio 2, Radio X and BBC Introducing.

Ferris & Sylvester were invited to perform their BBC Introducing live session at Maida Vale Studios, which aired on Cerys Matthews' Blues Show on BBC Radio 2. BBC Introducing have supported the duo throughout their rapidly growing career and included the band in their 'Best Of 2018' list after inviting them to play Wilderness Festival's main stage last summer.

Last year, the duo won hearts and praise across the country as they played to thousands alongside the likes of Eric Clapton, Robert Plant, George Ezra and Jade Bird, while also performing at major festivals including Bath Festival, BST in Hyde Park and Barn On The Farm.

Following the run of shows this month, Ferris & Sylvester will be heading out to Austin, Texas for their debut SXSW performance. They will join Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq for the BBC Music Showcase on March 15th. They have also been announced to play Live At Leeds festival on May 4th and will be supporting Wildwood Kin on their UK tour throughout April and May.

Having released two EPs, their debut The Yellow Line in 2017 and 2018's Made In Streatham, Ferris & Sylvester have received vast critical praise across the board, including being featured in high profile lists such as Rolling Stone Magazine's 'Top 10 New Country Artists You Need To Know' and BBC Introducing's 'Best Of 2017' and 'Best Of 2018'. They have received strong radio support from BBC 6Music, Radio 2 and BBC Introducing.

Their latest EP Made In Streatham has received over 2.6 million plays on Spotify, following great support from the platform who put its singles in a number of high profile playlists including numerous New Music Fridays and charted at No.14 on the Spotify UK Viral Top 50. It also topped the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Chart and continued to receive great support across the board at press and radio.

In 2018 the band expanded their sound and songwriting into deeper and darker places alongside producer Michael Rendall (Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, Echo & The Bunnymen) on single 'Burning River'. The song clocked up well over half a million plays in its first two months on Spotify.

After a monumental year of touring in 2018, Ferris & Sylvester now stand poised and ready to launch into the new year as proudly independent songwriters and performers, with their eyes now fixed on writing their debut album.
