Musicians of New Orleans are uniting to help the victims of flooding in Colorado with NolaRado, a benefit concert, today, December 14 at The Howlin' Wolf from 2 to 6 p.m. All proceeds from the event, featuring some of the hottest musicians in the city, will go to the Lyons Community Foundation in Lyons, Co.

NolaRado, a benefit concert for Colorado flooding victims featuring: The New Orleans Suspects, Bonerama with special guest Kermit Ruffins, Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band Horns, a James Booker Tribute featuring Reggie Scanlon and Johnny Vidocovich, Billy Iuso, Papa Mali, Derrick Freeman, Dave Jordan, Margie Perez and Brian Stoltz!

The concert is set for Saturday, December 14 from 2-6 p.m. at The Howlin' Wolf, 907 South Peters, New Orleans.

Communities in northern Colorado were devastated by historic floods in September, something we all know a little bit about. But, like New Orleanians, the people of Colorado are resilient and determined. They just need a little help getting back on their feet.

NolaRado is the brainchild of CR Gruver of The New Orleans Suspects who, along with a bevy of New Orleans-based musicians, wanted to give back to a community that helped in our time of need-Colorado. When he brought the idea to Crag Klein of Bonerama, Klein jumped at the chance to help and the two recruited a number of other groups and musicians. Aside from the Suspects and Bonerama with Kermit Ruffins, they've signed on Johnny Vidocovich, Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes, Papa Mali, Derrick Freeman, Brian Stoltz, Billy Iuso, Dave Jordan, and Artist-at-Large Brian Stoltz.

"A lot of people don't realize this, but after Katrina hit Colorado was the fourth-most popular state for evacuees, a remarkable statistic given the sheer distance between the two places," said Gruver. "And for New Orleans musicians, Colorado is one of the most receptive and supportive areas in the country. Anyone who has been to a late-night New Orleans Jazz Fest show can attest to the impressive number of Colorado residents who make it down to the Crescent City."
