The new single Coconut is a Pina colada oozing psychindieexplosion from theatric electropopduo Mother Mink, alias Fanny Wistrand and Johan Axelsson.
As usual when Mother Mink releases new material (three releases has to be considered business as usual) there is a bakers dozen of fresh influences baked into the mix. This time inspiration comes from the tropics but the MM sound is still distinct with rough drumloops, bitcrushed synth and Johan Axelsson's sub barytonsaxophone. On top of the pile charismatic singer Fanny Wistrands's soulful voice.

-Coconut is all about the exotic dream of the tropics, Fanny Wistrand explains. The tune is a comment on the blownup expectation about thee perfect vacation that prevails in todays western society. In the end it's a heads up to seize the day and be happy with what you have!

Mother Mink, based in Stockholm, Sweden started in 2016 and have up til today dropped two singles. Where the latest Doobie Doobie was used in a Samsung commercial and played in national radiostation P3 and japanese Tokyo FM among others. The influences are broad, ranging from Zara Larsson to Deerhoof.

-Experiment and hitmaking is not two separate issues for us, Johan Axelsson says with a smile.
