CBS THIS MORNING Posts Largest Year-to-Year Gain in Viewers Among Morning News Shows

In a heavy news week, CBS THIS MORNING posted the largest year-to-year gain in viewers for a network morning news broadcast, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Sept. 8, 2017. CBS THIS MORNING delivered double-digit percentage gains in viewers (+13%, 3.72m from 3.29m) for the week when compared to the same week a year ago. At the same time, both ABC and NBC were up +2% in viewers.

CBS THIS MORNING gained +430,000 viewers compared to the same week last year which marks the best viewer delivery since April.

The week included CBS THIS MORNING's extensive coverage from Florida in anticipation of Hurricane Irma's landfall in the U.S..

CBS THIS MORNING launched Jan. 9, 2012, and each weekday morning, Charlie Rose, Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell deliver two hours of original reporting, breaking news and top-level newsmaker interviews in an engaging and informative format that challenges the norm in network morning news programs. The broadcast has earned a prestigious Peabody Award, a Polk Award, three News & Documentary Emmys and three Daytime Emmys. The broadcast was also honored with an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Award as part of CBS News division-wide coverage of the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.
