Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival Returns For 10th Edition With Nina Kraviz, Motor City Drum Ensemble And More

After a decade of showcasing both local New York talent and world-renowned dance music acts, Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival (BEMF) makes its triumphant return October 3-6 2018 for its milestone 10th edition. Touching down for four nights across some of Brooklyn's finest venues, the festival is pleased to announce its full lineup as well as welcoming Nina Kraviz, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Mount Kimbie, DJ Hell, Breakbot and more top electronic artists from the borough and around the world.

Spanning across nine venues in the hippest Brooklyn neighborhoods of Bushwick, Gowanus, Greenpoint and Williamsburg, one of the festival's major venue partners in 2018 is the Avant Gardner. Known for its unique events and massive spaces, the two indoor industrial event areas the Great Hall and the Kings Hall, will host stellar shows with house and disco favorite Motor City Drum Ensemble. Representing some of New York's finest, BEMF has invited the legendary François K, Founding father of Deep Space and Body & Soul to join Sublimate's Sagotsky, and Solarplexia's Seth Magoon to round out the billing for the Friday, October 5 show.

On Saturday, October 6, ReSolute will take the reins at the iconic venue bringing top-notch creative production elements to the night. Festival-goers can expect a dramatic expanse of layered hypnotic visuals to complement the diverse palette of house, techno, and acid slated from the stellar lineup with Nina Kraviz at the helm.

"From DIY beginnings to now occurring at major venues, this independent festival continues to expand the conversation of music and our cultural experiences in Brooklyn. We hope to always continue to push the envelope and support the artists of Brooklyn." - BEMF Founder, Jen Lyon

On Thursday, October 4, OUTPUT will host the French, Disco-Don duo of Breakbot & Irfane, supported by Brooklyn talent The Duchess, and The Funky Seshwa founder, Willy Soul. On Thursday, October 4, Gowanus' Analog BKNY sees Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs take a spin on the borough's best custom built sound system, 'The SBS Slammer,' with Nice Age label mates Durante and friends.

Greenpoint hotspot Good Room boasts a stacked three-day run kicking off Thursday, October 4, with local stalwarts FIXED (JDH & Dave P) who've invited DJ Hell, Massimiliano Pagliara, and Kris Baha (live) to their home turf. Night two will see JETS (Jimmy Edgar x Machinedrum) return to the booth, with the Darker Than Wax crew taking over the Bad Room. The venue's festival finale promises a throw down of epic proportions with DJ Seinfeld's DJ-Kicks Tour supported by DJ Richard, Baltra, J.Albert (Live) and rising local phenoms on Saturday, October 6.

In Bushwick, the ballroom and vogue champion, Mike Q, returns to House of Yes hosting a special edition of House of Vogue on Wednesday, October 3, promising guest MCs, DJs, and over $1000 in cash prizes. Ridgewood's intimate rave den, H0L0, highlights the up-and-coming Taraval hosted by hometown heroes AceMo and MoMa Ready of HAUS of ALTR on Thursday, October 4. About Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival:

Starting on a Brooklyn dance floor in 2009, the independently run festival is committed to showcasing some of the best genre-bending DJs and live electronic acts with an emphasis placed on celebrating the artists who are perseverant enough to call Brooklyn home. For its landmark edition, the festival is pleased to host events at some of the borough's top venues including award-winning nightclub OUTPUT, Good Room, versatile performance space House of Yes, H0L0, and a few non-traditional Brooklyn spaces. Once again, the festival will offer a range of programming and talks during the day to complement the nighttime offerings.

In recognizing the increasing difficult cost associated with living in Brooklyn, both for artists and music lovers alike, and the festival's inherent responsibility in sustaining the thriving nightlife community in New York, BEMF is again offering a limited number of passes which guarantee access to everything the festival has to offer for a deeply reduced price.
