The Bionic Bunnies of Bass are about to launch an all out assault on hi-fi systems everywhere, releasing their 4th studio album on digital platforms starting October 1st. With subwoofers set to DESTROY, Blackburner bring the serious bass on this new outing, showcasing a new Trap-influenced style that mixes extremely low bass with bright synths, a sound popularized by Baauer's "Harlem Shake." The opening salvo here is the magnificent, reggae-inflected "Burn" followed by an earthshaking remix of Bob Marley's "Sun Is Shining," which has already gained airplay on BBC's Radio 1. Proving no genre is safe from their subsonic fury, Blackburner let loose on a superb Dubstep cover of the anthemic single "Radioactive" by alternative rock heroes Imagine Dragons, demonstrating a deftness with both rock and EDM that has kept this duo in the top ranks at Beatport for the last 6 months! Following the release of Bass Warning!, Blackburner will be embarking on another cross-country tour in early 2014. Prepare for the Bass Invasion - you have been WARNED!
Blackburner was founded by Skyla Talon, a Michigan-born Los Angeles transplant who cut his teeth in the music capital of the world in metal bands who toured the country with acts such as Hatebreed and Type O Negative. As touring wound down, Talon began experimenting with electronic dance music production. Inspired by the revolutionary new sounds in Dubstep and Glitch music generated by the likes of fellow metal-head-turned-DJ Skrillex, Talon added an extra dose of heaviness and in an explosion of computer wires, guitar strings and patch cables, Blackburner was born! Previous Blackburner albums have featured guest appearances by Edgar Froese of Tangerine Dream, John Wesley of Porcupine Tree, William Shatner, and members of the prog rock outfit Yes. Their single "Freak You" was selected for a national Verizon Fios Quantum ad campaign, and on NBC's hit competition program "America's Got Talent." The band also supported industrial icons Ministry on their summer 2012 tour from Los Angeles to New York in addition to headlining dates at the epic Bondage Ball and legendary Sunset Strip Music Festival.
