"Conjuring the raw sound of Richie Havens and Sly Stone with the spirit of Mayer Hawthorne and Sharon Jones, Bernhoft is so obviously a star that it feels only a matter of time before he breaks stateside."-Los Angeles Times

"Part of the fascination is that he's a one-man band with an unusual approach to building songs...but what sets him apart from the Keller Williamses of the world is the fact that Bernhoft crafts unapologetically mainstream tunes in the vein of Lenny Kravitz or maybe [Robin] Thicke."-The Village Voice

Norwegian troubadour Bernhoft is set to tour the U.S. this summer to celebrate the release of Islander, out June 23 on Big Picnic Records. The tour includes a stop at Austin City Limits as well as Los Angeles's Troubadour and two dates in New York. Bernhoft will also play a release week show June 24 at Bowery Ballroom. See below for full tour details. Bernhoft will also tour Europe this summer, playing 21 festival dates including Glastonbury.

Bernhoft recently appeared on Conan to perform "Come Around," watch the video here.

Islander, which reached #1 in Norway earlier this year, is Bernhoft's third full-length album as a solo artist, following 2008's Ceramik City Chronicles and 2011's Solidarity Breaks, featuring singles "Cmon Talk" and "Choices" which have nearly 7 million YouTube views between them. Islander was recorded on England's Isle of Wight and produced by Paul Butler (Michael Kiwanuka, Devendra Banhart). The video for "Come Around" recently premiered on SPIN, watch it here.

Bernhoft is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist and composer Jarle Bernhoft. Norway-born and New York-based, Bernhoft has become notorious for his intricate and complex live performances, built around Bernhoft himself as a looping one-man-band.
