Banjo Musician Tony Trischka Plays The Tent, Hosts Workshop Today

One of the most influential banjo players in the roots music world and America's foremost visionary of the five-string banjo, Tony Trischka will be performing at The Tent on Barter Square tonight, September 26th at 8:00pm. Before the performance, he will also be hosting a special banjo workshop at 4:00pm.

During his performance, he will be showcasing arrangements from his latest album "Great Big World." This album has been called his most compelling and ambitious, displaying his far-ranging musical talents and songwriting skills.

Trischka's styling has inspired generations of bluegrass and acoustic musicians. With the many voices he has brought to the instrument, Trischka has entertained and taught audiences for more than 45 years.

Accompanying, Trischka will be Mike Barnett, of the Deadly Gentlemen, on fiddle; Jake Jolliff, of Joy Kills Sorrow and Yonder Mountain String Band, on mandolin; and Skip Ward, session musician and ensemble player, on bass.

With every Tent Jams performance this season there is a featured food event for the evening. Bonefire Smokehouse will have BBQ available for purchase under The Tent.
