Artists In Music Awards Honors Top Artists Tonight in Hollywood

The Artists In Music Awards (AIMA) Ceremony tonight, Feb. 7 at the Key Club in West Hollywood, Calif., will showcase and recognize top emerging musicians chosen fairly by fans and music industry professionals.

At the ceremony, executive producer Mikey Jayy and his co-hosts will honor 130 nominees in 26 categories, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. Eight nominees will perform, artists described by Jayy as "the best of the best."

The event will benefit the PAIN Against Domestic Violence Foundation.

Last year, Jayy expected about 800 to attend theevent, but was surprised when 1,500 people showed up. Similar Numbers are expected this year.

Jayy, founder of KGUP 106.5 FM, host of the music/talk show "The Great Unknowns Presents," and managing editor of "All Indie Magazine," created the event as a way to fairly choose and recognize independent artists from around the world-regardless of their popularity. For his efforts he has won the hearts of his artists and accolades from the music community. He recently was awarded "Community Service in Music Award" at the 22rd Annual Los Angeles Music Awards.

"Mikey started small, and worked diligently up to where he is now, and I don't see it plateauing anytime soon. He is the definition of hard work and success," says Lea Reis, founder of Infinite Music Source. Reis has produced projects ranging from Tu Pac Shakur and Moe-Dee to music teasers on Fox Sports.

"Look for Mikey at the top, with all of his artists with him," says Reis.

Performing at the event will be Mika Ben-Yami, Cheating Daylight, Travis Royce, Ko-Lition, Haster, The Controversy, Glitter Rose, and Leave It To Us. Tickets can be purchased here:

"Mikey Jayy has designed the AIMA to be both fair and meaningful for the industry. While the finalists are chosen by the general public, the winners from each category are selected by a panel of industry professionals," says Mark Lamdanski, co-owner, Butterflies Radio and co-host of the AIMA awards ceremony.

"The artists who receive an award can truly say that they are the best in their category. The AIMA is not a popularity contest; it is a measure of talent."

Artists who won awards last year say the experience helped them boost their confidence, expose them to music industry professionals and grow their careers.

Says Devon Harrington of DevonSol, 2012 Best Indie Rock Artist, "Mikey is by far the most hands-on guy that I have ever met in terms of getting independent artists' music heard and I would do anything for him."

The 2013 AIMA Ceremony at the Key Club, 9039 West Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, begins at 5 pm, when nominees will walk the red carpet. The awards Ceremony begins at 7 pm.

Over the next year, Artists in Music Awards will be producing 11 shows at the HardRock Café in Hollywood.
