Moments ago, Alex Ebert, singer, songwriter, composer and front man of Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, premiered his new single "Broken Record" on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show. This is Ebert's first release since his 2011 solo album Alexander. Purchase "Broken Record" via iTunes and watch and share the visualizer here.

Alex Ebert says of "Broken Record," "Once in a while enough heartache piles up and you get that tender electric. And that wide open space is that terribly alive s. Terribly alive. And that's that ocean I love best. That's that adventure. That's that void-blown, step-blind trust. This song Broken Record is the first of a whole thing. Not an album. An adventure. I'm leaning out. I can't speak for other people right now. Just myself."

Ebert was born in Los Angeles in 1978 and currently resides in New Orleans, LA. In 2011, he released his first solo album as Alexander. In 2014, Alex Ebert won the Golden Globe for Best Original Score to J.C. Chandor's film All Is Lost starring Robert Redford. He followed that up by scoring Chandor's next film A Most Violent Year. Additionally, he scored the Oscar winning Disney animated short Feast. Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros released their fourth studio album in April 2016, followed by an international tour including stops at Coachella and Newport Folk Fest.
